Term 3 Dance Newsletter
Welcome back to all parents and students to Term 3, 2017! Hasn’t it arrived quickly! This term is a 10-week term finishing on Saturday the 23rd of September. Please see below some important information regarding the concert lead up and important dates.

LFK Concert Venue and Dates
Xavier College Senior Campus 135 Barkers Road Kew
Friday the 24th of November: Dress rehearsal at Xavier College
Saturday 25th November -Evening performance 6:30pm (Grade 2-Seniors)
Sunday 26th November- Morning Performance Junior Concert 11am
Kinder Dance x 5 classes, Prep Jazz x 3 classes, grade 1 x 2 classes and Showcase performances
Sunday 26th November-Afternoon Performance 2pm (Grade 2-Seniors)
The concert theme this year is colours. During the middle of this term, we will be putting up the concert backstage roster for each concert and the dress rehearsal for volunteer parental supervision backstage throughout the shows. We really appreciate your support in helping the concert run as smoothly and safely as possible while the students are enjoying themselves!! We do require all volunteer parents to have a working with children check which can be done online.
Tickets go on sale on Monday the 23rd of October at 9am
Costume Deposits
These are now due and are required per dance class. Deposits are $50 and must be paid with either a cheque or cash. Measurements will take place in the first four weeks of this term and will then be ordered from our international dancewear outlets. Once costumes arrive we will invoice you with the balance and can be collected wen available and on finalization of payment.
Fees
Due to an enormous amount of outstanding fees between terms, as per the new financial year an additional fee of 10% of your outstanding balance will be charged to your account before the commencement of each new term. Term 3 fees are now due. We distribute invoices to those who haven’t paid in week 3 so please see reception to settle your account. Fees can be paid over the phone by credit card or direct debit if you do not have the chance to come in between 9am-7pm. You are entitled to a 5% discount if fees are paid in full by Saturday the 22nd of July by 1pm sharp. Please note that payment plans can be organized.
Disney Hong Kong 2018 (LFK in HK)
Lifestyle for Kids has been selected to send 22 dancers, to Disneyland Hong Kong, in April 2018!! These enthusiastic dancers have the opportunity to dance in the Disneyland Main Parade, and perform at the Ocean Park Oceanarium. They will also partake in workshops in ballet and jazz at the Jean Wong’s School of dance, ultimately participating in the experience of a lifetime! We intend to, with our fantastic community support, help fundraise for our dancers, to ensure all participating can have the chance of a lifetime and fulfil their dreams of performing on tour. Keep an eye out for upcoming events. We thank you for your support in advance.
Uniform:
LFK have some new LFK Dance Compression tights from Dancewear Nation in stock, similar to 2XU. They are $90 and some are available in the foyer. Sizes are limited, but can be ordered for you. Our Black bonds hooded jackets are on sale now- down from $50 to $25. Fluffy Pink dance hoodies are $50 and are perfect for this winter weather. If you feel your daughter needs new LFK bike shorts for the end of year concert, please purchase early, as stock will be limited towards the concert. We don’t want you to miss out, as they will be required as a uniform and for the concert finale.
House keeping
Please don’t miss any classes this term, choreography has already begun, or will begin week 1 of this term. Missing classes will affect positioning and choreography of routines. No make-ups are available for dance classes so don’t miss them and please practice at home.
Please no glass drink bottles in the venue
Please be in uniform for your class and please be on time!
